Pride suffer road loss in rematch against RV Grand View

DES MOINES, Iowa - Facing off against their first repeat opponent within the Heart of America Athletic Conference this season, the Clarke University men's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to the Vikings on Tuesday night in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Vikings were able to produce double digit kills and a .200 or better hitting percentage as a team in every set as well as improve on those numbers in each progressive set on their way to set wins of 25-13, 25-15, and 25-11 for their sweep of CU this season.

Individually, Andre Lucas Alves Leandro was the only player on either team to finish in double figures for kills with a 14-kill night on a .409 hitting percentage as he received seven kills of support from Jonathan Rzepa then four kills apiece from the trio of Pietro Fandanelli, Jake Winters, and Cheikh Sou.

For the Pride, Tanner May and Noah Whalen had the top two kill totals at six and five respectively for 11 kills primarily of the 18 assists from setter Benjamin Reiser with both Eduardo Hernandez and Kevin Suarez tying for the team-high in digs with five while Hernandez added three kills.

Clarke men's volleyball will return home for their next match when they host Graceland University at the Kehl Center on Friday, Mar. 13 for a scheduled 7:00 p.m. CT scheduled first serve between the Pride and Yellowjackets.
