Pride fall to Culver-Stockton 68-47
CANTON, Mo. – Looking to complete the regular season sweep against Culver-Stockton, the Clarke University men's basketball team struggled to get their offense going in a 68-47 defeat Wednesday evening in the Charles Field House.
After trailing 36-20 at the end of the first half, CU would begin the second half on a 12-0 run thanks to a pair of Biggie Luster three's to pull within 36-32 with over 15 minutes to play.
The Wildcats would finish the final 15 minutes of play on a 32-15 run to put the Pride away as their leading scorer, Robert Fry II would finish tonight with 21 points on 7-12 (58.3%) shooting. Senior, Jalen Blaize scored 18 points on 7-16 (43.8%) from the floor. Recording a double-double was Seth Larson as he netted 13 points as well as 13 rebounds.
The Pride shot a season low 15-60 (25%) from the floor, while the Wildcats were able to go 26-68 (38.2%). A major aspect in tonight's game came from the Wildcats ability to control the middle as 34 of their 68 points came from inside the paint.
Individually for Clarke, Chris Burnell and Luster led the scoring for the Pride as they both netted nine points and Luster was able to snag 13 boards. Daquon Lewis was able to score five points and grab a career high 10 rebounds on the night.
