Pride fall in three to Morningside in final road match of 2026

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Playing their final game away from Dubuque of the 2026 season, the Clarke University men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Morningside University on Saturday afternoon by set scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-15.

Both teams produced quality offensive numbers with the home team coming out slightly better from a counting stat and percentage standpoint finishing at 47 kills and a .337 hitting percentage for the Mustangs while CU had 37 kills and a .233 hitting percentage in the three sets.

Part of that advantage on the attacking side came from a solid back row defense from MU to the tune of 45 digs in the match led by 14 from Tucker Juhnke and another 10 from Natan Alves as Alves also led the match with 19 kills and a .485 hitting percentage to finish with a 19-point performance.

Clarke's defense came more from the front row as they produced eight blocks compared to just two blocks for Morningside as Dustin Kuner led CU in that stat category with five block assists along with his eight kills and fellow middle Tanner May led the team with 11 kills and added three block assists for a 12.5 point performance while Trey Vescoso and Eduardo Hernandez had six and five kills apiece in the match.

The top dig totals for the Pride came from Lachlan Donnelly's team-high seven while Benjamin Reiser had six digs to go along with his 30 assists setting for CU.

Clarke men's volleyball will finish up their 2026 season with three-straight home matches in the month of April, starting with an Apr. 3 matchup in the Kehl Center with Missouri Valley College for a scheduled 7:00 p.m. CT first serve.
