Eddy, Luster awarded Heart All-Conference Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Leading the Clarke University men's basketball team all year, Biggie Luster and Anthony Eddy were awarded Heart of America Athletic Conference honors Thursday afternoon.
Luster, a sophomore guard from Rockford, Ill., was awarded Second Team All-Conference and was given a spot on the All Defensive Team. Luster played in 26 games and led the Pride in minutes per game with 34.2. Shooting at a 50.6% clip from the floor for the year, Luster averaged 12.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
Playing a guard position and standing at 6-2, crashing the boards was a staple of Luster's game all season and helped him reach five double-doubles, which included a program record 22 rebound effort in a 82-71 victory over Grand View on February 6th. Leading the Pride in steals with 67 and second on the team in blocks with 15, Luster was a pest on the ball and off for opponents in the Heart Conference all season long.
Eddy, a senior guard out of Byron, Ill., was awarded with a Heart Honorable Mention. Playing in all 28 games, Eddy averaged 32.4 minutes per game and a team-high 15.3 points per game while shooting 36.3% from three on 234 attempts.
Finding himself scoring in double-figures in 21 of the 28 games, Eddy highlighted his season by scoring 38 points and tying the record for most three-point shots made in a game with eightin a 94-87 win over Viterbo on November 15th, including 15-21 (71.4%) overall from the floor.
The Pride finished the 2022-23 season with an 11-17 overall record, missing the Heart Tournament, and will dive into their offseason plans in hopes of getting back into the Heart Tournament in 2023-24.
