Peru State Powers Past Pride, 92-63
PERU, Neb. – Looking to make the most of their final road game of the 2022-23 season, the Clarke University men's basketball team led by Biggie Luster's 22 points, were unable to pull the upset against Peru State in a 92-63 loss.
It was another slow start for the Pride as they would find themselves down double-digits quickly at 24-10 with 12:01 to play in the first half before going on a 9-3 run to cut the lead down to 27-19. Eight points would be as close as Clarke would get for the remainder of the contest as Peru State finished the half on a 25-5 scoring run to lead 52-25.
The second half saw the Bobcats build their lead to as much as 32 points on their senior-day as three of their senior starters scored 15 points including Troy Houghton, who also grabbed 14 rebounds, Lorenzo Anderson, and Jibril Harris.
After shooting just 28.1% from the field and 20% from three, the Pride bounced back in the second half once again to improve their shooting numbers to 45.7% and 38.5%. For the game, Peru State finished with a 50% field-goal percentage and also shot 15-31 (48.4%) from deep.
