Pride drop 2025 finale at Mount Mercy
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Closing out the 2025 schedule with a Halloween night Heart matchup against their closest geographical foe, the Clarke University women's volleyball team fell 3-0 at Mount Mercy University on Friday night in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Mustangs were able to win all three sets by 10 or more points after back-to-back 25-15 set finals in the first and second followed by more of a gap in the third leading to a 25-11 final score to win the match for MMU.
The Pride struggled to get their attack going, finishing at a team hitting percentage of -.009 with 23 errors to just 22 kills on 113 total attempts with seven of those 23 errors being on Mount Mercy blocks as the Mustangs only had 12 errors and 37 kills with 110 swings for a .227 team hitting percentage.
Three players in the match finished with 10 kills for the match-hgh as a pair of Mustangs in Ellie Gerdes and Hallie Bedier both had 10 kills and hitting percentages at .400 and .500 respectively while CU's Keely Colyer led the team with 10 kills of her own but a .111 hitting percentage on her 36 swings.
Pride libero Jayden Knox finished with a team-high 14 digs while junior setter Kortney Harms had 12 digs and seven assists with freshman Jaxcyn Berntgen adding nine assists and five digs of her own.
Clarke women's volleyball closes out the 2025 season with a 2-27 overall record, graduating only three members of the 2025 roster heading into the 2026 offseason for head coach Matt Gagner's first full offseason since taking over the head coaching role last spring.;
