Pride fall in straight sets at William Penn

OSKALOOSA, Iowa - Getting back on the road after a pair of home matches last weekend, the Clarke University women's volleyball team dropped a three-set match at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa on Tuesday night.

The closest set margin came in the opening frame where the Statesmen would earn a 25-20 set win behind a mid-set 6-0 run to take a 15-12 margin into an 18-15 lead where they wouldn't look back never leading by less than two points until their eventual set win then go on to earn more comfortable 25-11 and 25-16 wins in the second and third sets.

For the second time this season, the Pride setter/right side combination of Kortney Harms and Keely Colyer both recorded triple-doubles in the same match as the tandem both recorded 11 kills exactly to combine for 22 of the team's 32 total kills, Hrams finished with the higher assist total at 15 to Colyer's 10 but Colyer got her back on the digs with 13 to 11 from Harms.

The only other player in the CU lineup to have more than one kill in the match was junior Emma Shea-Wopinek as she tied her career-high, set just the match prior, with a seven-kill performance while Jayden Knox added nine digs, Olivia LaCour had six digs, and Ariana Rodriguez finished with three digs.

WPU only had three more kills than Clarke in the match but also produced 12 service aces and 13 less errors on the attack with Joceline Martinez leading the team with nine kills on just 11 swings with two errors for a .636 hitting percentage.

Clarke women's volleyball will remain on the road for their next three over the upcoming seven days, starting with a two-match weekend swing to the Kansas City area starting with a Friday night match at Baker University for a scheduled 6:00 p.m. CT first serve in Baldwin City, Kan.
