Pride track and field gets back to action for first time in 2026

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Back in the familiar surrounding of the St. Ambrose University Wellness and Recreation Center, the Clarke University track and field teams competed in the Bumble Rumble, their third indoor meet of the 2025-26 season and their first of the calendar year since returning from winter break.

The Pride touted four different individual event winners and five more top-five finishes in different events with the jumps providing a bulk of those top results led by winners in both the men's and women's pole vault events as senior Grace Squires competed for the first time this season to a 3.25-meter winning clearance in the women's pole vault while Keifer Landes won the men's pole vault at a 4.30-meter vault.

Long jump was a fruitful event for CU as well with Ja'kobe Kizer winning the men's long jump at a 7.08-meter best jump, just 0.02 meters away from an NAIA B Standard distance as he also produced a third place in the triple jump at 13.42 meters while Gracee Roig finished fifth in the women's long jump as her best jump landed at 5.07 meters.

The fourth and final winning performance came on the track with a first place from Jake Etherington in the 200-meter dash with his 22.77 winning time as the Farnborough, England native also finished in second place in the 60-meter dash with a 7.01 time in the finals.

The Pride distance runners rounded out the top five finishes for the teams on the day as Jaycie Franco finished fourth in the women's 800 meters with her time of 2:28.37 while Chesney Capron ran the men's 800 to a 2:00.73 for third place and Drew Pate finished in fourth place in the men's 5,000 meters with his 16:38.18 time.
