Pride have four individual winners at Moco Mercer Open
DUBUQUE, Iowa – Competing for the second straight week, the Clarke University Track and Field team earned four individual event wins at the Moco Mercer Open hosted by the University of Dubuque on Saturday.
Winning both of the 3000-meter races was junior Rory Bickler for the women and Emmett Schwartzhoff for the men. Bickler finishing with a time of 10:57.11 and Schwartzhoff at 9:47.20. Finishing in second in the women's 3000-meter race was freshman Jaycie Franco who finished in 11:21.18.
Freshman Grace Squires and sophomore Emma Grant tied for first in the women's pole vault as they both cleared 3.15 meters. Finishing in fourth place was freshman Autumn McLaughlin as she cleared 3.00 meters and finishing in fifth was freshman Malia Beich as she vaulted 2.85 meters.
The last individual winner for the Pride was freshman Allena Rowland as she won the women's 600-meter race in 1:39.18. Finishing in fourth place in the women's one mile race was Isabel Manning as she finished with a time of 6:09.64.
Coming off of an individual win in the pole vault last weekend, James Vandun placed fourth in the men's 60-meter hurdles this weekend with a time of 8.81. Vandun also finished third in the men's long jump with his 6.59-meter jump. Helping the Pride get four team points on the men's pole vault was Timothy Miller who finished in fourth place clearing 4.10 meters. Carson Sansenbach also finished fourth in his event, the 800-meter race, where he crossed the finish line in 2:02.58.
In the other men's jumping events, Elijah Douglas finished in fifth place in the men's triple jump with a 12.65-meter leap and Tyler Kell finished tied for third place in the men's high jump after clearing 1.88 meters.

Clarke track and field will once again travel to Davenport, Iowa to compete in their next meet at the Fighting Bee Invitational on Saturday, January 28th.
