DUBUQUE, Iowa – In their final game of the regular season, the Clarke University women's soccer team was defeated by the fourth-ranked Central Methodist Eagles, 2-1 Friday afternoon.
The Eagles broke the scoreless tie in the 36th minute when freshman Nerea Munoz scored her second goal on the season off the feed from Larissa Ozorio and 1-0 would be the score after the first 45 minutes of play.
In the early moments of the second half, Clarke's Jaycee Page had an opportunity to even the score at 1-1 but hit the crossbar. Moments later, Central Methodist would jump up 2-0 on a Kirstine Lykke goal, with Ozorio picking up her second assist of the game.
With the Pride's second shot attempt of the game, Jamie Albertson scored her fifth goal of the season to cut the lead down to 2-1 in the 61st minute of play.
April Lashomb would get the start for the second game in a row, making six saves. Getting the start for the Eagles, Max De Armas Colombo picked up her third win on the season after playing just over 60 minutes without a save. Candela Blanco Esteban would replace De Armas to play the final 28 minutes.
Central Methodist finished with a 12-2 shot and a 6-2 corner kick advantage.
