Pride drop final road game of 2022 in 19-7 loss to Midland
FREMONT, Neb. - In their final road trip of the 2022 season, the Clarke University women's lacrosse team fell in a shorthanded effort by a final score of 19-7 to Midland University.
Due to injuries, the Pride competed for the entire 60-minute contest with 11 of a possible 13 available roster players as Midland was able to take advantage of being up a player for the game.
It started on a strong note during the opening quarter for the Warrior as they outscored CU 7-2 before they went on to win each of the following periods 4-1, 3-2, and 5-2.
Clarke goalkeeper Mars Beimert was able to made 16 saves over the entirety of the game to finish at a .457 save percentage compared to the 10 saves made by Midland's goalie Ashley Shelton.
MU's Masey Jay and Madilynn Edwards both finished with eight points in the game with Jay leading the game in goals with six with two assists as Edwards added five goals with three helpers.
For the Pride, Alyssa Humphrey and Emily Moran both had multi-goal games with Humphrey finishing with three goals while Moran had two goals and an assist in the game.
Clarke women's lacrosse will finish up the 2022 regular season with a home game against St. Ambrose University at Burrows Field on Tuesday, Apr. 12 for a 4:00 p.m. CT scheduled start time.
