Froelich named to WBCA's Thirty Under 30 for 2023-24 season
ATLANTA, Ga. - Over a week removed from receiving a player honor from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), the Clarke University women's basketball team now has a coach honored as assistant coach Haley Froelich was selected to their Thirty Under 30 list for the 2023-24 season.
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude and professional association involvement. A total of 31 coaches received the honor this year due to a tie in the selection process.
"Congratulations to these 31 coaches who have distinguished themselves so early in their careers," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "The WBCA is pleased to recognize this up-and-coming talent in our coaching family. We celebrate their effort on the basketball court as teachers and equally applaud the extensive role they play in impacting the lives of their student-athletes."
In her first season with the Pride assisting head coach Adam Hocking in his first year at the helm of the women's basketball program, CU finished the 2023-24 season 29-3 while setting new program bests in several offensive stat categories including but not limited to scoring average (80.2 ppg), shooting percentage (44.5%), three point field goal percentage (37.3%), and free throw percentage (76.7%).
