Haase earns Heart Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second straight week to start the season, a Clarke University women's basketball player has earned Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Week as senior Taylor Haase was announced as this week's recipient on Monday afternoon.
Playing two conference games last week against Central Methodist University and Benedictine College, Haase was a key contributor in winning both games.
Against Central Methodist, Haase played 25 minutes and shot an efficient 9-10 (90%) from the floor with a season-high 23 points and seven rebounds in a game where the Pride scored over 100 points for the first time since Nov. of 2021.
Three nights later, Haase played 36 minutes against Benedictine where she scored 18 points with 10 of those points coming from the free-throw line as she controlled the paint on both ends of the floor.
This week's award marks Haase's second time earning the Heart Conference Player of the Week with her first coming on Nov. 15th, 2021.
The Pride women's basketball team will face off against the Columbia Cougars in a non-conference matchup tomorrow, Nov. 21st beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT in the Kehl Center.
