Pride eye indoor championships after five individual winners at UW-Plattville Invitational

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Competing in their last meet before the Heart indoor championships, the Clarke University track and field team came away with five individual wins, including another school-record being taken by Allena Rowland.

Rowland, after putting her name on top of the 600-meter and 400-meter, has now taken over the top spot in the 200-meter race with a time of 26.69. She not only broke the record, but also won the event to help the Pride women secure 10 points in the event.

Finishing atop of two events this weekend was Rose Creek, Minnesota native Rory Bickler. In the 800-meter she posted a time of 2:32.59 and in the mile, she ran a 5:27.69. Not far behind Bickler in the mile race was freshman Jaycie Franco, who placed in second with a time of 5:45.17.

The final winner on the women's side was sophomore Emma Grant, who won her third indoor pole vault event of the season as she hit a mark of 3.19 meters.

Fulton, Illinois native, Sydney Norman competed and placed in second in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.55 meters.

Sophomore, Kole Haverly was the fifth winner of the day, competing in the men's 800-meter race as he crossed the finish line in 1:59.99. Finishing in second was freshman Carson Sansenbach as he crossed a second after in 2:00.95.

The men had two more second place finishers as Calmar, Iowa native Emmett Schwartzhoff ran the 3000-meter in 9:29.03. The 4x200 men's relay consisting of Gavayne Smith, River Alvarado, Kain Sourbeer, and Camden Foesch was outran by one second as they crossed the line in 1:35.74

Finishing in third place for the men was Timothy Miller in the pole vault event, earning six points by hitting a mark of 3.82 meters and Elijah Douglas in the triple jump by reaching 12.85 meters.

Up next for Clarke University track and field will be the Heart of America Indoor Championships taking place in Maryville, Missouri next Friday and Saturday.
