Luke Persenico tabbed as NAIA's Offensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After an impressive six-goal week, freshman forward Luke Persenico (FR/St. Charles, Ill.) has earned NAIA Offensive Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced today.

Persenico recorded a hat trick against the University of St. Francis (Ill.) on Aug. 31, and again against Dordt University on Sept. 4. The freshman has scored seven of Clarke's 16 goals this season, all while having only played in four games. 

Persenico stands just two goals shy of cracking the program's top-10 list for most goals scored in a single season. The single season program record sits at 17, set by Jordan Perry during the 2015 campagin.

On Monday, Persenico earned his first career Heart Offensive Player of the Week honors. 

The Clarke men's soccer program will be back in action this weekend to face Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis. on Saturrday, Sept. 11 at 1:00 p.m. CT.
