Pride men's soccer falls to No. 1 Central Methodist 6-0

FAYETTE, Mo. - Facing their toughest opponent of the season, the Clarke University men's soccer team fell to the No. 1 team in the NAIA, Central Methodist University 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles scored five of their six goals in the first 27 minutes of the game as the Pride did a strong job to hold CMU to just one goal for the remainder in the game that would end up coming in the second half.

Four different goal scorers recorded the goals for Central Methodist as they got two from Theo Klein (15' & 27') and then goals from Jesse Bank (5'), Stefano Campisi (7'), Christian Sanchez (23'), and Tom Irion (55').

Clarke was significantly limited in the game throughout, only getting off two total shots in the game during the second half and not earning a corner kick throughout the 90 minutes. Goalkeeper Fernando Contreras finsiehd with six saves as well as allowing the six goals on 21 total shots taken by the Eagles in the game.

CU will return home for their final game at Burrows Field of the 2021 regular season when they host Grand View University next Wednesday for an 8:00 p.m. CT scheduled start time.
