Conner Cole and Drew Dorenbush named All-KCAC Honorable Mention for 2022 performance
WICHITA, Kan. - Just a few days following the announcement of the Scholar-Athletes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, Clarke University men's lacrosse also had two members receive KCAC All-Conference recognition as attacker Conner Cole and defender Drew Dorenbush both earned Honorable Mention from the conference, KCAC officials announced on Friday morning.
Cole was a record breaker in his lone season as a member of the Pride in 2022 as he set new program marks for goals in a season with 30 and total points in a season with his 19 assists giving him 49 points breaking the goals mark set by both Nick Lundberg and Micah Sundman who scored 22 goals in 2019 as Lundberg also had the points record with 47 in that season.
The Hudson, Wis. native scored a goal in every game for the Pride but one and set a new program record for goals in a game when he scored 10 goals in a win against Saint Mary on Apr. 1 while also adding four assists in that game for a 14-point performance.
With his selection to the All-KCAC Honorable Mention team, Dorenbush was the top performer on the defensive unit for CU as he was also able to provide some offensive push and faceoff help on occasion as he finished the season with three goals on the only five shots he took all season and won seven faceoffs on the year.
Cole will be graduating this spring but Dorenbush is expected to return for the 2023 season as the Pride will look to build off of 2022's 3-9 record.
