Carter Ruegsegger nabs Heart Men's Golfer of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - As the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships begin on Monday, a regular season honor was bestowed on Clarke University men's golf sophomore Carter Ruegsegger as he earned the Heart Men's Golfer of the Week honor, Heart officials announced on Monday.

Ruegsegger is competing in his first official competition for the Pride this semester after transferring in from Carroll University over the summer as he has been in the No. 1 spot in the CU lineup all spring.

Ruegsegger took home some hardware last week as the official runner-up in the Loras Invite at the Meadows Country Club in Dubuque, Iowa following a tie for first after 18 holes forced a playoff where he would lose out to his opponent carding a birdie. He also competed in the Mount Mercy hosted Verhille Invitational at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Pride are currently in the middle of their two-round opening day at the Golf Club at Creekmoor down in Raymore, Mo. for the Heart Championships as play will finish up on Tuesday to wrap up the 2021-22 season Clarke men's golf.
