Pride men's golf earns fifth place finish at Judson Invite

WEST DUNDEE, Ill. - Nearing the end of their fall season, the Clarke University men's golf team finished in fifth place out of 12 teams at the Judson Invite on Monday.

The Pride scored a final team score of 317 (+33) in the single round event as Wheaton College finished with the top team score of 301 (+17). Clarke's final total was 11 strokes behind the fourth place team in Lewis, who finished at 306 (+22) as they were six strokes ahead of the sixth place team of Carroll University who finished at 323 (+39).

CU freshman Francis Resurreccion finished with the lowest individual score at 77 (+6) to finish in a tie for 19th place out of 68 individual competitors. Behind Resurreccion, Justin Everson and Kade Salemi finished with matching 79 (+8) with Alex McLeland at 82 (+11) and Ben Baker at 86 (+15) rounding out the team of five's scores.

Some individuals of the men's golf team will be competing at Iowa Wesleyan's tournament on Tuesday with their next full team competition coming up on Oct. 4-5 in the Heart of America Conference Preview, which will take place at the Golf Club in Creekmoor in Raymore, Mo.
