Pride bowling gets their 2026 started at Kegel ISBPA Collegiate Classic

ADDISON, Ill. - Getting their first taste of action in the 2026 calendar year, the Clarke University bowling teams produced a 33rd place men's finish and 41st place women's finish in large fields at the Kegal ISBPA Collegiate Classic on Saturday and Sunday Jan. 17-18.

On Saturday, the Pride men produced 4,818 total pins over their 25 individual games led by a quality five-game performance from freshman Andrew Sass who nearly produced all five games over 200 pins, falling just two pins shy of that mark, to total 1,136 and average 227.2 with a high game of 256 (198, 216, 231, 256, 235) for an 11th place finish in the overall individual field that totaled 473 bowlers to record at least a game and over 200 bowlers that bowled the maximum of five games.

The other members of CU's men's lineup to bowl in five games included Harley Redding, who posted a 975 total pin count to average 195 pins per game followed closely by Camryn Stefanini's 191.2 average after 956 total pins over five games. The remainder of the Pride men saw Austin McFarland post a 184.25 four-game average, then both Mason Trapp and Zach Reuter bowl three games to average 172.67 and 165.33 respectively.

For the Clarke women on Saturday, freshman Mia Losee continued her strong first collegiate season with a five-game total of 939 (243, 231, 159, 170, 145) for a 187.8 pins per game average to finish in 64th place in the overall individual field as the best finish for the Pride in the women's half of the event.

Alexa McDaniel and Jennifer Hayakawa both also posted scores in all five games where McDaniel averaged 172.8 pins and Hayakawa totaled 816 pins over five games to average 163.2 with Maddy Ardiaz's four-game average of 150.25, Sidney Pawski's three-game average of 171.67, Asher Merz's two game average of 134, and Emily Larson's one game of 126 put the Pride at 4,129 total pins after the 25 total individual games.

On Sunday, the teams compete in 16 baker games to add to their team score with the men producing 3,047 pins and the women adding 2,635 pins to their overall score to place them in their 33rd and 41st team placements respectively as the best game from the baker rounds saw the women post a 211 in game 15 while the men opened the baker rounds with a 247 in game one.

Pride bowling will be back on the lanes in two weeks when they travel to Waterloo, Iowa for the Cedar Valley Invite on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
