Pride bowling opens 2023 with solid scores at KEGEL/ISBPA Classic
ADDISON, Ill. - Back in action for the first time since Dec. 3-4, the Clarke University bowling team got back to the lanes with their first tournament of 2023 at the KEGEL/ISBPA Classic.
The men's team had five individual participants with the women putting four individuals out with both teams adding baker scores in the large field in Addison, Ill. over the weekend.
Tanner Webb finished with the Pride's top individual score with a 992 total pin count over five games with a team-high individual game of 240 in his third game bowled. Webb was closely followed by a 985 from Shane Jordan as the sophomore transfer made his Clarke debut over the weekend with his best game coming in the fifth at a 231.
The rest of the men's squad saw Jordan Gorgas finish with an 895 and both Adante Jones and Landen Freismuth shooting identical 857s.
On the women's side, Kassidy Gerken led the way with an 898 with her best game eclipsing 200 with a 204 in the second game of the day while Zoe Schultz total over 800 as well for an 876. Stephanie Thompson and Emma Clancy rounded out the individual scoring for CU with 788 and 742 scores respectively.
In the baker scoring session, the men bowled a 20-game total of 3,649 with their 19th game score of 246 being their top mark and the women totaled 2,402 over their 20 baker games.
Up next for Clarke bowling will be their home tournament hosted at Cherry Lanes in Dubuque when they host the Clarke Invite on Jan. 21-22.
