Fierst Captures First Conference Player of the Week of the Season
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After the first four games of the season, the Clarke University Pride men's basketball senior Jacob Fierst has earned himself this year's first Heart of America Conference Player of the Week honor.
Fierst earned the honor by averaging 25 points per game and eight rebounds over the first week, which included a pair of double-doubles against St. Ambrose on Monday and Bethel College on Saturday.
In all four games, Fierst scored at least 20 points and showed a knack for taking good shots as he shot at least 50% in all. In the season opener, Fierst scored 29 points on 11-22 shooting and also grabbed 11 rebounds. On Saturday, Fierst outperformed his Monday showing with a 31-point, 13 rebound game on 14-24 shooting, which both led to Pride victories.
This is the third career Heart Player of the Week honor for Fierst as he also received the honor twice last year on Jan. 3 and Feb. 14 as he finished the season as the Heart Newcomer of the Year.
Fierst and the 3-1 Pride will play their second home game of the season on Tuesday, November 15th against Viterbo University at 7 pm CST.
