OSKALOOSA, Iowa - Looking for revenge from a buzzer beating defeat, the Clarke University men's basketball team dropped their rematch against No. 1 William Penn University on Wednesday night by a final score of 106-79.
The Statesmen had matching 53-point outputs in both the first and second half of the game as they shot an efficient 41-of-77 (53.2%) from the field in the game and outrebounded CU 57-39.
Despite the loss, the Pride's Jacob Fierst led all players in scoring as he put up 28 points and 11 rebounds for his third-straight double-double and his 13th double-double of the season in his 27 games played on the year.
WPU had four players in double figures led by a 23-point performance from Kevion Blaylock as he was supported by 18 oints from Q Cager, 17 from Chanze Cruesoe, and 10 from Muneer Newton.
CU's Biggie Luster and Jordan Lake also scored in double figures on the night with Luster scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds as Lake finished with 12 points, four assists, and two rebounds.
The Pride will finish up their 2021-22 schedule on the road when they face Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan. this Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. CT scheduled tip off.
