Brown's productive doubleheader carries junior to Heart Player of the Week honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In the middle of their finale doubleheader to wrap up their first weekend of Heart of America Atheltic Conference play, Clarke University baseball junior first baseman Alden Brown received the Heart Player of the Week honor, Heart officials announced on Monday afternoon.

Brown had a pair of three-RBI games on Sunday to open their four-game series against Missouri Valley College as he finished the day a total of 4-for-6 with those six RBIs that included a three-run home run in the series-opening 13-6 win.

Brown got the start at first base in both games after being in and out of the starting lineup, either at first or designated hitter, as he finished the day with a pair of doubles while driving in three and scoring two more times in the 11-7 win over the Vikings as he scored a total three runs in the two games.

Clarke baseball is currently finishing up their four-game series in Marshall, Mo. against Missouri Valley as they earned a series win in Monday's opener with another offensive explosion in a 27-17 final.
